Immersive Leadership Journey
The Nurse Leadership Practicum Immersion is an 8-week leadership practicum designed for nursing students completing leadership, management, or professional development clinical requirements. Students participate in structured mentorship sessions, leadership discussions, and a guided leadership project while completing required practicum hours.
Students are responsible for confirming preceptor approval requirements with their academic program prior to enrollment.

Leadership Project
Execute a guided quality improvement initiative that demonstrates your ability to apply leadership principles to healthcare challenges.
The Leadership Capstone Project
Students synthesize their learning through a structured leadership or quality improvement project. This capstone allows you to apply theoretical principles to real-world healthcare challenges, identifying operational gaps and proposing data-driven solutions under professional mentorship. This project helps students demonstrate leadership competencies required for nursing leadership coursework.
What Students Will Gain
Students receive structured mentorship from an experienced nursing leader while completing required practicum hours for their academic program. Throughout the immersion program, participants engage in weekly leadership discussions and reflective learning sessions while developing a guided leadership or quality improvement project. Upon completion of the program, students receive a Leadership Practicum Completion Portfolio containing documentation of practicum hours, leadership project evaluation, mentor feedback, and a professional letter of recommendation.

The Nurse Leadership Institute is led by Aarika Wall, a dedicated nursing professional with extensive experience in hospital-wide operational leadership. Aarika currently serves as a Nursing Supervisor providing hospital-wide operational leadership while also mentoring nursing students as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor. Currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice candidate, Aarika is committed to developing the next generation of nursing leaders through structured clinical mentorship and real-world leadership application.
